What a Muslim needs by his bed, the Holy Quran and a tasnig (the thing that look like a necklace, you count on it to remember God, called "dhikr" or Turkish "zikr", scholar differ whatever it is permissable or not).

Maashallah, very nice picture. The gold leaf is shining very dramatically. About the beads: As far as I know in the Sunnah of the Prophet (saw) dhikr is done by the fingers. Some scholars may say it's not permissible because some people make the tasnig a holy subject because of their superstitions. Catholic christians have smilar beads called Rosary with a cross attached to it. This could be also the reason why Muslim scholars forbid the usage of it. Allah knows best since Allah knows the hearts better than we do...

Naam, Allahu alem, but they're good "unfortunaly", especially when you are tired, can't count etc...

Yeah they are good when you're tired, and you can just be guided by the fingers - when I count in my head it's bad because I don't fully concentrate on the dhikr.

Yeah.. very true. I usually use them in mornings when I'm tired, but somehow I don't like it because it just might be a bidha and that Sufis use it and I don't want to look like them.

the light shining "on" the kur'an-ı kerim looks as if it's shining from kur'an, which is absolutely spiritual! you could have focused on the tasnig also, but maybe elevating the kur'an like you did is better i guess.
